2nd annual shore fishing derby held as part of the Gimli Icelandic Festival. The Islendinga-Derby was a huge success in 2025 with 20 teams competing for incredible prizes. Held along the breakwater walls of the Gimli Main Dock, this year’s derby is sure to see some great fish caught and scored. New this year are a separate Open Division (all ages) and a Youth Division (age 15 and under). Youth teams are permitted to have a ‘Coach’ assist them during the derby.
Register here today as there is a maximum of 20 two-person teams for each division. Catch, photo, release via on-site judging teams scoring format. Full rules for the competition are below (TBA).
